The Namma Mysuru Foundation has imported two multipurpose cleaning machines (vehicles) from Italy in order to keep the Heritage City sparkling clean. The machine can sweep a road and neatly wash it, performing the work of over 70 Pourakarmikas.

The Macro M60 machines have been procured at a cost of Rs. 2 crore. The six-tonne capacity machine not only sweeps the street but also washes the stretch with water that is carried in a tank as part of the machine. It can clean a road up to six kilometres in just 6 hours.

According to report, the machine is waiting to get RTO's nod before it can be used to clean the city.

The M60 is the most advanced and performing mechanical-suction sweeper on the market. Its 6 cubic meter hopper volume and 6,000 kg net payload are unmatched performances that allow this superb sweeper to work in the heaviest-duty conditions, both urban and industrial. The machines have been imported from Italy with financial assistance from Bank of Baroda.

The M60 machine works on sensor-based technology and automatically picks up dirt and muck. It has sturdy brushes on both sides. It is equipped with vacuum tube of 6 feet length and it can suck even minute dust particles from the streets to keep them spic and span.

The vehicles will reduce the burden on Pourakarmikas and the cleaning machines can be operated on major roads like D. Devaraja Urs Road, Sayyaji Rao Road, JLB Road, Ashoka Road, Jumboo Savari Route and other main roads in the Central Business District. The machines can pick up construction debris like stones and bricks too.
